Originally owned by the great-grandmother of the lady's whose estate this set came from, this is a rare opportunity to own a German lustreware set of 5 hot chocolate or espresso cups and saucers. It has raised surfaces that give the cups and saucers added design interest, but most of all we love the lustreware per se but especially the rare blueish-purple colors trimmed in gold that make this obviously very expensive and high quality set stand out. Each cup stands approximately 2.75" high and 2.25" in diameter, and each saucer measures 4.5" in diameter and has a slightly curved outer edge trimmed in gold. Each cup features the impressed mark "Germany" and is further decorated by vibrant and realistic flowers and leaves in a manner that you just didn't see past about the turn of the 20th century. All five cups and saucers are in excellent condition with no chips or damage and amazingly little age wear even to the gilt trim and highlights. Included at no charge is a 6th cup with a tiny edge chip less than 0.25" that you can keep as a spare in the unfortunately event that one of the 5 mint sets gets damaged.
