Old pot metal scottie dog box that you just don't see anymore and consigned as part of a major Greenwich, CT estate. The box has impressive detail for pot metal, with the scotty dog fur granular and realistic and rope edging around the perimeter of the lid to give it a little added design flair. The hinged box has a wood interior which hides from above the fact that there's a small gash 0.5" long in the bottom of the pot metal box, i.e. you can't see it unless you look at the box from the bottom. It is particularly rare to see this type of box marked, but this scotty is marked on the bottom "Made in Japan" with a rising sun logo and "Patent Applied For." Very sought after by collectors and scotty dog lovers, this dog box measures 4.0" x 3.25" and stands 1.75" high, and other than the bottom flaw the box is in very good condition with some serious age to it.
