Rare 1947 copy of Know Your Doctor, a classic piece of cigarette advertising in the pre- politically direct days of being able to see your doctor and nurse heros smoking happily away. Published by the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company of Winston Salem, NC, the book is filled with beautiful color prints including an early feminist doctor print and terrific views of doctors with cigarettes as they give counsel or work. Know Your Doctor "is dedicated to the men and women of the medical profession in recognition of their tireless devotion to the cause of human health and happiness." It was prepared by the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, makers of Camel cigarettes, and published in national magazines throughout the country." Each large 15" wide and 12.5" high page (13 total) has a glossy print and caption for the following print on the rear. The interior pages are all in excellent condition, and the front cardboard cover has a few stains and surface and corner wear, but no tears. Captions include There is a Doctor in the house, You're like part of the family, Doctor, Everybody knows him, Lady with a Lamp, and I'll be right over.
