Very striking 1950s Japanese hand painted paper umbrella on wood frame, in very good condition. The colors are vibrant and almost perfectly preserved, and the bamboo and wood operating mechanism works great. There is a small crack in the wood center stem below the latch mechanism caused by the long term effect of the locking mechanism. It's a nice size at 21.5" long when closed, and approximately 30.0" in diameter when open. Great to display with bright, cheery colors.
