Fun and colorful 1950s glazed and covered art pottery bowl or casserole dish that is one of the best examples of this kitchenware related art form that we've seen. The colors are vibrant and the glaze gives it a sheen that you don't often see in pottery of this period. The top is particularly well done and intricately designed and executed, and the ornamental brass top adds that final bit of flair. You will note that the inside of the bowl with its colors and glaze is really as good as is the top, and even the exterior sides of the bowl which you can see in the photographs has yet another contrasting pattern that all fits together remarkably well. Measuring approximately 5.0" high when covered and 7.875" in diameter, it's in very good condition with only the tiniest glaze nick and minor age crazing on the top cover. The inside of the cover is marked 998-2198 as is the bottom of the bowl, and it comes to you direct from an Atlanta, Georgia estate collection.
