Super
swirl glass pitcher is all hand blown glass and really evokes the
striking look of the 1950s and 1960s and is a lot more eye catching
than most anything you can buy today. We particularly love the colors
of this pitcher, rich colors of white and amber in a swirling design
that winds down the entire surface perimeter of the pitcher. It
has a nicely bulbous bottom portion for added flair and that really
shows off the handblown glass, and it's in mint condition. It's
also a nice size suitable for a variety of uses, standing approximately
8.75 " high and 6.0" in diameter at the widest point,
right to the site from a Hilton Head, SC beachfront home; cross
listed on Glass 2. /55 |

guests will easily mistake these mushrooms for the real thing, and
they make a super decorative flair to add to a shelf or table in
your home sure to generate questions and complements. Both are in
excellent condition and measure approximately 2.0" high and
2.75" and 2.0" in diameter respectively. Bargain price,

From
the estate of a worker at the Holt-Howard
company in Stamford, Connecticut, here's a rare opportunity to own
mid-century Holt-Howard Christmas collectibles. The company imported
ceramic holiday decorations from Japan, often to their design and
sold under the Holt-Howard name in the United States. 1.
Set of 3 donkey holiday candleholders in brilliant colors of red,
green, and white. Each donkey measures approximately 4.25" high
and 4.75" head to tail. Each is marked and dated on the bottom Holt-Howard
1964 Japan, and one retains the original Holt-Howard double H paper
label. Two of the three are in mint condition, and one has a very
minor chip on the side of one side of the candle holding rim, easily
repaired if you so desire. 2. Set of two Holt-Howard holiday
dove or bird candleholders, with good detail and a nice golden color
on their wings and holly with berries on their chest. Each bird
measures approximately 2.75" high and 4.5" head to tail. Both are
in very good condition with no chips or damage, and one retains
the original Holt-Howard double H paper label. Cross listed on Holiday

Very
cool 1950s / 1960s slotted cannister light screams out mid-century
modern retro design and still looks great in the 21st century too!
The cannister design is white on the exterior and red on the interior,
which combines for a nice sixties effect regardless of whether the
lamp is on or off. As you can see in the photos, the slots in the
lamp body give off a very unique lighting pattern when lit, especially
in a dark room. The cannister style retro lamp is in very good condition
and measures approximately 9.0" high and 6.5" in diameter
at the widest point; cross listed on Lamps 2. |

If
you're like a lot of collectors and fans, you'll love this whimsical
wooden ship SS America telephone that's a sure conversation
piece and a great gift for any sailor, nautical fan, or telephone
collector in your life. We really like the streamlined look of the
ship, and when you lift the phone receiver out of the cradle it
reveals the cabin of the boat sunken within for a great look. Out
of an Augusta, GA estate, we nabbed this fun home accessory which
measures approximately 12.5" long, 4.0" wide, and 4.5"
high with the receiver on. It's in good condition with some nicks
in the wood from use here and there and some minimal paint loss
from the blue pinstripe on the side. The phone itself is a Telemania
phone and appears to have been custom designed to fit the ship form;
there are plugs for 2 phone lines underneath. Fun & whimsical!

Terrific
mid-century modern Raymor Italian ceramic "Bourbon" vase
with that fun and whimsical couple raising their glasses in a toast!
The colors are classic fifties retro and we love the artist vision
for the image, with the black lines outlining the figures and their
clothing, liquor, and the sun above highlighted with hand painted
blue. It measures approximately 10.5" high and 4.75" in
diameter at the widest point, and it's in good condition with only
a small chip less than 0.25" wide on the top edge which has
been filled in but where the color isn't matching very well- if
you're good with touch up and color matching, you'll be all set.
It's fully marked on the bottom "Raymor Italy R2121/C"
and c. 1950s / 1960s. Cross listed on Pottery 2. Bargain price for
Raymor! |

You
could have bought them for $2.98 back in the 1950s, but you sure
won't find mint condition 1950s sunglasses and matching clip-on
visor case in fab fifties designs at that price today - although
they're still quite an affordable and fun accessory. Take your pick
of two retro Merit designs or buy them both; each comes in the original
clip-on car sun visor case and warranty certificate. Even though
sunglasses don't come with that kind of case today, the staff here
feels it was a good design idea and are all trying to figure out
how to put clips on their own sunglasses case. These were manufactured
by the Merit Manufacturing Company of Central Falls, RI and were
heavily advertised during the period in Life Magazine. Note the
open gap in some of the side ear bars to give them just a little
added design flair. The frames are made of plastic, somewhat flexible
so they can be bent into shape to some degree but not rigid like
modern sunglasses; fit adjustments may be needed. They come with
the original warranty that notes they are "manufactured for
optical safety and construction and the lens are precision cut and
processed and certified to be of the finest quality." The sunglasses
measure approximately 5.5" wide at the lens, and the ear bars
measure approximately 5.5" long. The visor clip-on plastic
case measures approximately 6.0" wide, 3.0" high, and
1.0" deep. Each pair of sunglasses is in mint condition and
has the original Merit red and gold seal on the lens noting the
original $2.98 price, "6 Base Hardened Lens" and that
it "Conforms to Conn SG 40". We just love the design of
these, sure to generate complements and questions wherever you wear
them. These mint condition, never used 50s sunglasses come to you
direct from the dusty shelf of a Newport, Rhode Island estate liquidation.

Fun
and colorful 1950s glazed and covered art pottery bowl or casserole
dish that is one of the best examples of this kitchenware related
art form that we've seen. The colors are vibrant and the glaze gives
it a sheen that you don't often see in pottery of this period. The
top is particularly well done and intricately designed and executed,
and the ornamental brass top adds that final bit of flair. You will
note that the inside of the bowl with its colors and glaze is really
as good as is the top, and even the exterior sides of the bowl which
you can see in the photographs has yet another contrasting pattern
that all fits together remarkably well. Measuring approximately
5.0" high when covered and 7.875" in diameter, it's in
very good condition with only the tiniest glaze nick and minor age
crazing on the top cover. The inside of the cover is marked 998-2198
as is the bottom of the bowl, and it comes to you direct from an
Atlanta, Georgia estate collection.

Whimsical
washing machine and dryer theme plastic salt and pepper shakers,
one of the cutest set of shakers we've seen in quite a while. Each
machine features the Westinghouse brand above the front loading
door which features a clear plastic window replicating the look
of a real machine. The door of the salt reads Laundromat while that
of the pepper reads Clothes Dryer. Each stands 3.0" high, 2.75"
deep, and 2.5" wide, and while there is some age wear to the
white plastic in places the set is overall in very good condition
given the age and material. Super whimsical theme collectors cherish!

of one earpiece is marked Sunmodes SRO. The glasses measure approximately
5.5" across the front, and each ear stem is about 5.5"

Super
sixties tin flower pin has great 60s colors and is sure to generate
complements on your lapel. We love the detail and colors of this
piece, with all handpainted green stem and leaves combining with
the unusual pink and maroon shades on the flower petals and center.
There are two rows of petals, with the darker color underneath the
lighter color of petals to give the piece depth and a more realistic
effect. It measures approximately 4.0" high with a 2.5"
in diameter flower, and it's in excellent condition direct from
an Atlanta, Georgia estate collection of vintage costume jewelry
exclusive to Collectics. Makes a great gift from the mid-century!
